Job Brief
Valbridge Property Advisors | Pittsburgh has an immediate opening for a Certified General Appraiser/Appraiser Trainee in our Pittsburgh office. The position provides an excellent opportunity for experience and potential advancement within the commercial appraisal industry. The successful applicant will work under an MAI Designated partner in conducting research and preparation of appraisal reports for a variety of property types across the 5-state region of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. Qualified candidates will have a unique opportunity to be mentored on the job and to develop relationships with local real estate professionals as they work toward developing their appraisal career. Applicants must be detail-oriented, analytical, and extremely organized. The position requires excellent communication skills, above-average math and writing skills, a professional demeanor, good telephone etiquette, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills are a must. This position is full-time and does not require an appraiser’s license; however, a trainee license or a residential license is preferred. The right candidate will be highly motivated to succeed in the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal field and will be required to eventually obtain a General Real Estate Appraisal License. The willingness to become certified in more than one jurisdiction is a must.

Responsibilities
- Conduct formal appraisals of real property for a variety of clients including banks, lenders, AMCs, attorneys, municipalities, and individual owners.
- Examine all variables that impact the property's value, including, but not limited to, property history, neighborhood, sales data, and comparable sales.
- Provide an unbiased, comprehensive, and professional opinion of value.
- Comply with USPAP and keep informed of all current regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Trainees will be brought to this level over time.
