Brief Description

National commercial appraisal firm looking to hire a Commercial Certified General Appraiser or Advanced (Licensed) Appraiser Trainee. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and works well within a supportive team environment. The candidate should have experience in appraising a variety of property types including retail, industrial office and land. While it is expected that you will work independently, you will have support from both senior and appraisal staff.

Responsibilities

Develop narrative appraisals of real property which including, but not limited to, the following:

Evaluate properties to establish market values and property ratings using internal and external sources.

Make on-site visits, inspect property and interview clients.

Interview market participants to confirm or develop required data.

Examine all variables that impact property’s present or future value. (i.e. comparable sales, previous sales records, future developments, etc.)

Prepare written narrative reports that estimate property values which meet client(s), Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and/or other client standards.

Document procedure and backup data.

Keep abreast with all current regulations, standards and best practices.

Requirements

Possess a State of Indiana Certified General appraiser or Trainee license in good standing.

Proven working experience as a real estate appraiser. 

Strong analytical and research skills.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to learn proprietary software platforms.

Possess knowledge and experience searching online websites to obtain market data.

Skilled in interviewing market participants in order to obtain relevant data.

Acute attention to detail.

Possess excellent organization and time management skills. 

Ability to exercise sound judgement and prioritize assignments. 

A positive, professional attitude in the work environment and in the field. 

Familiarity with all current industry regulations, rules and standards.

Proven ability to contribute to office and co-worker appraiser knowledge and skills.
