The 2023 Valbridge Scholars Internship program, a national initiative of Valbridge Property Advisors, recently culminated with the Scholars Summit in New Orleans, LA. The internship program was designed to offer students practical exposure to the field of commercial real estate appraisal, providing hands-on learning opportunities and giving interns the chance to learn best practices from industry leaders.
The Scholars Summit 2023 combined real-world exposure and cultural immersion. Our very own Tyler Gin represented Valbridge Property Advisors Orlando | Tampa | Jacksonville at the 2023 Summit, where interns from across the country gathered to enjoy the southern hospitality of NOLA while capping off their real estate internships.
On Wednesday, July 12th, the group checked in at the Windham New Orleans-French Quarter hotel. They took a carriage ride through the French Quarter, soaking in the unique architectural and historical ambiance. The day concluded with a local dining experience at the Crescent City Brewhouse. The evenings offered a chance to explore the vibrant local culture.
Thursday began with breakfast at Café Beignet and a meeting with Paul Matthews, CEO of the Port of South Louisiana. The group had lunch at the Parkway Tavern before riding a streetcar to Vue Orleans, where they heard insights from Bear Cheezem, VP of Woodward Interests. After a day of exploration and learning, they relaxed over a group dinner at the Palace Café.
Friday commenced with breakfast at Daisy Dukes and a visit to the iconic Sanger Theatre. Following a private tour and presentation, the group enjoyed lunch at Mahony’s Po-Boys & Seafood. The rest of the day was free for participants to explore the charm of New Orleans.

Tyler, who graduated from FSU with a bachelor’s degree in finance in May 2022, is now a candidate in FSU’s prestigious Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. He added immense value to the Scholars Summit and continues to make us proud. Congrats, Tyler!
