ULI Essex Technical Assistance Panel (TAP)

Valbridge Property Advisors | Baltimore Washington Metro

PROJECT NOTES
Ed Steere, AICP of Valbridge Property Advisors | Baltimore Washington Metro recently participated in a ULI TAP (Technical Advisory Panel) as a planner and economist. The ULI TAP format is a 3-5 day blitz-style small area planning and community revitalization strategy, developed in coordination with local stakeholders, community, and government officials. The volunteer team, which included architects, planners, marketing/branding professionals, engineers, and legal representatives, toured the community, met individually with stakeholders, hosted two community charrettes, and produced a report with findings and recommendations that the local government and community will be able to use to revitalize and reshape their community.

In this case, the team studied the “Main Street” of a historic industrial community in Southeastern Baltimore County, in the proximity of the famous Lockheed Martin wartime airplane factory and regional airport. Considerations were recommended for rebranding the neighborhood, attracting new commercial uses, repurposing public and private properties, and addressing traffic and parking management.

Valbridge Property Advisors is well positioned to assemble teams such as this to study individual properties and communities. We have similar projects in local and regional economic development and planning strategies. With a national breadth of knowledge in all types of specialized real estate uses, Valbridge has the unique advantage of bringing a wealth of experience to any community to present viable revitalization options and real time redevelopment data analytics.
