VPA Office: Valbridge Property Advisors | Kansas City
I graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in finance. I joined the appraisal industry in 2019 and have been with Valbridge Kansas City since August 2020.
What is your title and what do you do at Valbridge?
My title is currently analyst. Hopefully in the near future that will be upgraded to “appraiser” as I have all my experience and education requirements complete with just the general certification test remaining.
How did you become a part of Valbridge?
I was one of the many people furloughed at the start of Covid-19. I sent out feelers to several appraisal firms in Kansas City and Laird Goldsborough (previous owner of Valbridge KC) was the first to respond to me. After his tedious interview process which included zoom interviews, in-person interviews, and personality tests, he was kind enough to offer me a job.
What are your specialty areas?
I appraise all property types with a focus in the multi-family sector.
What are some of the most interesting projects you've worked on at Valbridge?
I have worked on golf courses, residential treatment facilities, gun ranges, religious facilities, underground cave storage facilities, and student housing projects.
What do you like most about working at Valbridge?
I appreciate all the data and resources we have at our disposal. Valbridge does a great job making the appraisal process as efficient as possible with datappraise. Additionally, our office in Kansas City does a great job with the culture aspect by having quarterly outings, annual check-ins, fantasy football leagues, etc.
Outside of work I enjoy fitness, sports, and spending time with friends and family. My favorite teams are Kansas State, Chiefs, and Royals. I backpacked Europe last summer with three of my friends and explored the countries of Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy. Our trip also included running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
