I am a founding member of Valbridge Property Advisors. I have over 30 years of appraisal experience. I have served as a Regional Representative, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President, and Board Member of the North Texas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

What is your title and what do you do at Valbridge?

I am the Senior Managing Director of the Dallas-Fort Worth office. I oversee a staff of ten employees. I both train and provide guidance to our younger appraisal staff, as well as produce my own appraisals.

How did you become a part of Valbridge?

I was originally hired by the Gerald A. Teel Company in 2011, and our firm was one of the founding members when Valbridge Property Advisors was launched in 2013.

What are your specialty areas?

I have experience in a wide variety of property types, but have expertise in multifamily and affordable housing. I have experience with HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac agency lending/appraisals.

What are some of the most interesting projects you've worked on at Valbridge?

Valbridge has given me the opportunity to work on projects that I might not otherwise would have been able to appraise if I was not part of Valbridge. I have appraised semi-conductor plants with Class 1 clean rooms, mixed-use high-rise developments, office, industrial, subdivisions, health care properties, etc. I have provided appraisal to the lending community, been involved in tax appeal appraisal, estate work, eminent domain (ROW) work, and developed skills as an expert witness for real estate litigation.

What do you like most about working at Valbridge?

I enjoy the camaraderie with our other offices and the close friendships that I have made across the country. I enjoy working for a national company that has many experts in all property types and unique circumstances. Additionally, Valbridge provides their staff with up to date/cutting edge IT tools and access to large databases.

Additional information:

I am happily married to my wife, Leslie, of 32 years, who is also my best friend. My daughter Erin is a Mechanical Engineer with two degrees (George Tech and N.C. State) and works for Apple in San Francisco. My daughter Mary Kate graduated from Texas Tech (my wife and my alma mater) and works in logistics for Texas Instruments. I enjoy playing golf, hunting, training Labrador Retrievers, and I enjoy watching all sports at all times!
