Valbridge Property Advisors is offering a motivated, detail-oriented candidate a hands-on opportunity to start a career in commercial real estate appraisal. This position begins as a Real Estate Analyst role and is designed as a path to becoming a General Licensed Appraiser. You’ll receive one-on-one training and mentorship from experienced Certified General and MAI-designated appraisers. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Orange County office, near the 55 & 5 Freeways, where working side by side with our appraisers is central to your training.

Valbridge Property Advisors is one of the largest commercial real estate valuation and advisory firms in the country, with more than 50 offices nationwide. Our Santa Ana team provides valuation services for office, medical, industrial, retail, multi-family, and residential properties throughout Southern California. Our clients include lenders, developers, property owners, attorneys, corporations, and government agencies. You’ll also gain experience with our financial templates, proprietary databases, and report-writing software.

What You’ll Do

• Research, collect, and verify market and property data, and enter it into our internal database.
• Research and clearly describe macro- and micro-level real estate and economic trends.
• Develop a working knowledge of published market surveys and data sources.
• Use AI tools to further our research and analysis efficiency.
• Draft the “front end” of appraisal reports, including market, area, and property descriptions, under the supervision of a senior appraiser.
• Write comparable sale and lease write-ups, with the expectation of doing so with minimal supervision within about three months.
• Proofread completed reports for consistency, accuracy, language, and flow.
• Develop relationships with local brokers and real estate professionals while verifying data.
• Learn appraisal methodology as you progress toward an appraiser trainee role and, ultimately, a Certified General license.

What We’re Looking For

• A four-year college degree is required. A major or emphasis in real estate, finance, economics, or business is preferred.
• Must live within a reasonable daily commute of our Santa Ana office, since this is an in-office position.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Comfort with numbers. Knowledge of financial math is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Google Maps is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organization and time management, including the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Clear, professional communication, both written and verbal.
• The ability to self-start and work independently.
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career as a commercial real estate appraiser.
• An appraiser license is not required for this position. A trainee license is a plus.
