Meet the team:

Michael F. Berry, MAI

Mike Berry has over 30 years of experience in the valuation of a broad range of property types. He holds an MAI designation issued through the Appraisal Institute which signifies expertise in commercial valuation. Mike is a Certified General Appraiser in Virginia & North Carolina but has appraised property in over 20 different states. He is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College and has been teaching Real Estate Valuation at Virginia Commonwealth University for several years. Mike has qualified as an expert witness on numerous occasions in various courts in Virginia including the US Bankruptcy Court. Mike is experienced in the valuation of many property types including office buildings, free-standing retail, shopping centers, bank branches, churches, industrial, research/development buildings, multi-family condominium & apartment projects, residential & commercial subdivisions, mixed-use projects as well as commercial & industrial land. Assignments have been completed for a variety of purposes including lending support, litigation, estate planning, bankruptcy proceedings, and acquisition/disposition. Clients include local, state, and federal agencies; city and county governments; housing authorities; local and national corporations; insurance companies; pension funds; regional and national banking/financial institutions; accountants, attorneys, developers, investors and private individuals.

Matthew C. Ball, Jr.

Matt Ball is a native of Richmond and a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University Real Estate program. He holds a Certified General Appraiser license in Virginia and has over six years of professional experience in the real estate valuation field. Matt’s appraisal/valuation and consulting assignments include multi-family properties; retail buildings and shopping centers; office buildings; industrial buildings; special purpose properties (churches); residential subdivisions; commercial, agricultural, and residential land; and a variety of mixed-use projects. His more specialized experience includes numerous adaptive re-use projects and historic tax credit rehab properties.
