Employee background:

I graduated from Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas, in 1999. There I met my wife Stacey. Shortly after graduating, we moved to Houston, and lived there for three years. We then moved to New Braunfels, which is between San Antonio and Austin, in 2004. We have four children: Jackson(15), Sofia(14), Cole James(11), & Evelyn(7).

What is your title and what do you do at Valbridge?

I am a Senior Managing Director. I help manage the day to day operations for the San Antonio and Austin Offices, while also managing assignments that I bring into the firm. One of my main responsibilities is IT for the offices.

How did you become a part of Valbridge?

I started working with Dugger, Canaday, Grafe Inc. in 2004, a firm that originally began in the 1970’s, in downtown San Antonio. In 2013, we were one of the original firms to form Valbridge Property Advisors. Our firm’s main office is in San Antonio, but we also opened an Austin office earlier this year.

What are your specialty areas?

Upon joining the firm, I appraised everything, but in the last five years I have had a concentration in Right of Way Appraisal – including transmission lines, road widening, pipelines, etc. Our firm has also been engaged to do several assignments for the Border Wall in the Rio Grande Valley.

What are some of the most interesting projects you've worked on at Valbridge?

Being in Central and South Texas, we have the opportunity to appraise large ranches with historical significance. I was fortunate to appraise 250,000 acres for one of the King Ranch heirs. Other interesting assignments include an operating lignite mine, a 54,000 acre irrigated farm, water rights out of the Rio Grande River, and several aquifers throughout the state, and a cattle feed lot.

What do you like most about working at Valbridge?

The ability to tackle any assignment that may come in the door. The network of other appraisers around the nation, and knowledge that can be shared allows us to service our clients in a way that we were unable to before we joined Valbridge.

Additional information:

I hold the MAI designation through the Appraisal Institute, and the ARA designation through the American Society of Farm Mangers and Rural Appraisers. I am currently one of three people in Valbridge to hold the ARA designation.

Currently, I sit on the board of directors for both the South Texas Appraisal Institute and local IRWA Chapter. I am also a board member of the “T” Association at Texas State University which supports former athletic alumni. After graduating from college, I was fortunate to sign a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins of the NFL, and the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.
