Meet the team:

James T. Hartman, MAI, SGA, AI-GRS, Senior Managing Director

Jim is the Senior Managing Director of Valbridge Property Advisors | Detroit and has been with Valbridge, formerly the Oetzel-Hartman Group since 1997. He has served in multiple leadership roles within the Appraisal Institute. Including President of the Great Lakes Chapter in 2009, their Advisory Board, and other executive positions. On a national level, he serves on the General Comprehensive Exam Panel, both as a panel member as well as Chair and Vice-Chair over the course of 10 years. Jim currently serves on the State of Michigan Real Estate Appraisal Licensing Board as Chair, appointed by the Governor of Michigan in 2014.

In addition, Jim holds the SGA designation from the Society of Golf Appraisers. The Society of Golf Appraisers is an organization of Real Estate Appraisers and consultants specializing in the valuation of, market analysis, and feasibility analysis of golf courses and golf-related properties. Members hold the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and have demonstrated a long-term commitment to, and competence in, the valuation and analysis of golf course properties.

Nicholas Groves, MAI, Managing Director

Nick is the Managing Director of Valbridge Property Advisors | Detroit office. He has been with Valbridge, formerly the Oetzel-Hartman Group since 2009 and holds an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. Nick has extensive experience and expertise with hotels, elderly care facilities, and cannabis cultivation and dispensary facilities.
