CHICAGO (July 11, 2018) – Reaves C. Lukens III, MAI, SRA, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, was recognized today as an Appraisal Institute “Volunteer of Distinction” for second quarter 2018.

The Appraisal Institute is the nation’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers. Lukens is a member of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Chapter.

The Appraisal Institute’s Volunteer of Distinction program honors the organization’s volunteers for their service to the Appraisal Institute, to the real estate valuation profession and to their local communities. Each quarter, the Appraisal Institute recognizes AI professionals who have been nominated by their fellow AI professionals.

“Trip Lukens has been a great contributor to the Appraisal Institute,” said Appraisal Institute President James L. Murrett, MAI, SRA. “We are grateful for the time, effort and talent of volunteers like Trip who have devoted themselves to the betterment of our organization, the valuation profession and their local communities.”

Lukens is regional representative and chair of the Nominating Committee for the Philadelphia Metropolitan Chapter. He served as chapter president and a member of the Government Relations Committee in 2017, vice president and regional representative in 2016, treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee in 2015, secretary and chair of the Bylaws Committee in 2014, a member of the Government Relations Committee in 2013 and alternate regional representative from 2012-15. He served as chair of national Admissions and Designation Qualifications Committee and chair of the Strategic Planning Committee from 2013-16. He served as vice chair of the Admissions and Designation Qualifications Committee in 2012, and a member of that committee from 2010-16. He also served on the University Relations Panel, and as instructor for multiple Appraisal Institute courses.

Lukens joined the Appraisal Institute in 1997, received his MAI designation in 2009 and his SRA designation in 2014.

He has been managing director for Valbridge Property Advisors | Philadelphia in King of Prussia since 2013, also serving on the Valbridge Property Advisors board of directors since 2013. He received a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, and an MBA from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

Lukens serves on the Tredyffrin Township Planning Commission, and previously served as chair and vice chair.
