Valbridge Property Advisors | Silicon Valley completed an appraisal of conservation easement rights on Hearst Ranch surrounding the famous Hearst Castle in Central California, the site of real estate mogul William Randolph Hearst’s estate. The 82,000-acre ranch was valued at $230 million and is one of the most significant coastal land gifts ever made to the state of California. The state purchased half of the conservation easement rights and the Hearst family donated the remaining half.

The ranch is home to cattle and all kinds of exotic livestock including zebras and antelope. During the inspection, Walter D. Carney, MAI, Senior Managing Director, saw around 20 Mexican bulls encircling an old dying bull, lowing loudly as if in mourning. A powerful sight to see!
