I graduated from Mankato State University in 2017 and have worked at Valbridge ever since.

What is your title and what do you do at Valbridge?

I am a Senior Appraiser and work on all property types in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and North Dakota. I got my certified general license and promoted to Senior Appraiser on February 25th, 2022 (my birthday!). I’m currently working towards my MAI and my goal is to take the capstone and comprehensive exam later this year.

How did you become a part of Valbridge?

I started out doing front end for my dad, Rodger Skare, who formerly worked with Valbridge, when I was home on college breaks and a few months after I graduated. Tim Mardell then hired me as a staff appraiser a few months later in 2017.

What are your specialty areas?

I work on all property types and recently have had the opportunity to focus more on right-of-way/eminent domain work.

What are some of the most interesting projects you've worked on at Valbridge?

I have worked on several marinas, residential treatment facilities, proposed pickleball/entertainment facilities, golf courses, historic mansions, a gun club, and airplane hangars.

What do you like most about working at Valbridge?

We have a supportive team with a great work culture. Our supervisors are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and strongly encourage work-life balance.

Additional information:

My husband Sam and I got married in September of 2021 and currently live in West. St. Paul with our German shepherd/lab mix, Chief. After years of searching, we finally found a new house in Woodbury and will be transitioning to the suburban lifestyle next month. In our free time, we love to snowmobile, golf, spend time at the cabin, and win sand volleyball championships at our local dive bar.
