They were both appraised jointly for the property owner and taxing authority. The facility in Iola, Kansas was constructed in 1997 and is 323,915 square feet. The facility in Abilene, Kansas was constructed in 1994 and is 379,065 square feet.

Russell Stover has been in business since 1923. Their craft has been handed down from generations of candy makers, starting with Russell William Stover, an American chemist, and entrepreneur. Today, they have two factories in Kansas and another in Texas.
