Employee background:
I have a Business and Biology degree from the College of Charleston. After working a variety of jobs throughout college and after graduation, I decided it was time to find a career. I knew I wanted to stay in Charleston and was always drawn to real estate. I landed on appraising as it provided a good work-life balance and allowed me to be in charge of my success.
What is your title and what do you do at Valbridge?
Currently, I am an apprentice appraiser. As an apprentice, I am continuously absorbing appraisal knowledge through working on a variety of commercial appraisals including retail, office, multi-family, industrial, and small residential subdivision development.
How did you become a part of Valbridge?
After determining I wanted a career in real estate appraising, I was connected to the Charleston office through a friend. I immediately knew the Charleston firm was the best fit after interviewing and meeting the partners and other employees.
What are your specialty areas?
As an apprentice, I do not specialize in one property type. I work on all property types including retail, office, multi-family, industrial, and small residential subdivision development.
What do you like most about working at Valbridge?
Valbridge offers a wealth of knowledge not only on the local level but also nationally. This wealth of knowledge has provided me with training and professional resources to have a successful career in appraising.
Additional information:
In the five years I have been working at Valbridge, and in the appraisal field, I have achieved many personal and professional goals. Most importantly, I have a career where my hard work is not only recognized but pays off.
