Description

Valbridge Property Advisors | Utah is growing, and we have an immediate opening for an Appraiser Assistant. The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated with experience appraising a variety of commercial properties including, but not limited to, office, industrial, retail, multi-family, and vacant land. An appraisal license (trainee, licensed or certified) is required as you will be assisting in report analysis and writing. Valbridge Property Advisors | Utah is part of a nationwide property valuation firm with 78 office locations, 200 MAI-designated appraisers and more than 675 staff across the nation. We are the largest independent commercial property valuation and advisory services firms in the U.S. In Utah we have offices in Salt Lake County, Utah County and St. George. The right candidate will have the convenience to work out of our Salt Lake or Utah County office. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal appraisals of real property or land for a variety of clients including banks, lenders, AMCs, attorneys, municipalities, and individual owners.
  • Provide an unbiased, comprehensive, and professional opinion of market value.
  • Examine all variables that impact the property's value, including but not limited to, property history, neighborhood, sales data, and comparable sales.
  • Comply with USPAP and keep informed of all current regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Hold an appraisal license (trainee, licensed or certified) and be in good standing.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Knowledge and experience searching online to obtain market data for comparative analysis
  • MS Office skills, preferably advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of financial math
  • Utilization of technology
  • Ability to communicate well with clients and coworkers, both written and orally.
  • Ability to self-start

Valbridge Property Advisors | Utah is part of a nationwide property valuation firm with 78 office locations, 200 MAI-designated appraisers and more than 675 staff across the nation. We are the largest independent property valuation and advisory services firms in the U.S. In Utah we have offices in Salt Lake County, Utah County and St. George. The right candidate will have the convenience to work out of our Salt Lake or Utah County office. This is an excellent position for an established appraiser that is relocating, or that would like to focus on writing reports and eliminate administrative and business tasks they are currently juggling with their appraisal assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal appraisals of real property or land for a variety of clients including banks, mortgage lenders, AMCs, attorneys, municipalities, and individual owners
  • Provide an unbiased, comprehensive, and professional opinion of market value
  • Examine all variables that impact the property's value, including but not limited to property sales data and comparables sales
  • Comply with USPAP and keep informed of all current regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Be a licensed or certified appraiser in good standing
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Familiarity with Total appraisal software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience searching online to obtain market data for comparative analysis
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Possess sound judgement, excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
